Event: TOULOUSE-LAUTREC comes to Quimper!

Your Bretagne Sud Sotheby's Internatinal Realty agency is pleased to invite you to discover a temporary exhibition taking place this summer in Quimper. This cultural event highlights previously unseen works by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and his contemporaries.

Indeed, the musée d’Ixelles, currently closed for renovations and boasting one of the richest collections of late 19th-century graphic arts, is offering the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Quimper the opportunity to showcase these magnificent graphic works to the people of Brittany and Cornouaille. These include Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Théophile Steinlen, Alphonse Mucha, Eugène Grasset and Jules Chéret, all of whom excelled in color lithography and created some of the most emblematic images in poster art. Invented in 1796 in Munich by Aloÿs Senefelder, lithography is a printing technique based on the mutual repulsion of water and grease.
